What MTD means for landlords, and where Abodient is with it.
Making Tax Digital (MTD) is HMRC's move to quarterly digital tax reporting for landlords. It is being phased in by income, and Abodient keeps you ready for it rather than caught out by it.

The picture above is a property's Tax estimate, where the Making Tax Digital indicator sits.
MTD for Income Tax is phased in by your total income from property and self-employment, before costs:
Below the current threshold, nothing changes for you yet. These are the dates HMRC has announced; GOV.UK carries the live position if they shift again.
Once you are in, you send HMRC a summary of income and expenses every quarter, then a final declaration after the tax year.
Because Abodient already records your rent and costs as you go, those quarterly figures are there when the time comes. Recording your finances now is the preparation, so there is nothing to catch up on later.
