What Alfred can and cannot do

Where the answers come from, what he will never do, and when to ignore him.

Alfred is the assistant behind Ask me anything, at the top of every screen. He reads your portfolio and answers questions about it, or about UK landlord rules generally.

He can tell you what is in your account, explain how any part of the app works, look things up in your documents, and draft messages for you.

He cannot change your rent, serve a notice, pay anyone, or message a tenant without showing you first — anything that leaves the app waits for you.

Moving the line

Where that line sits is yours to set, on the Alfred tab in Settings. Every control can be set for all properties at once, or property by property.

The Alfred tab in Settings: External Messaging and Feedback Approval

External Messaging decides whether a message to a professional waits for your approval. Feedback Approval decides whether Alfred's questions to you need approving before he asks them.

Further down the same tab: Spend Threshold and Share Contact with Professionals

Spend Threshold is the largest callout fee Alfred may approve on his own — leave it empty and he always asks. Share Contact with Professionals decides whether your details go in the booking confirmations he sends.
