Why messages to contractors wait for you, and how to stop them waiting.
Some of what Alfred does waits for your yes. The Approvals chip in your Inbox gathers it, and each issue's Approvals tab shows the ones for that repair.
What waits for you
A message to a contractor. The row says "A message is waiting before it's sent". Select Review to read it, then Approve & Send, Edit Message or Decline. A decline needs a reason.
A question from Alfred. The row says "Alfred needs your guidance". Select Respond, type your answer in Your reply, and select Send to Alfred.
The go-ahead for a trade. A card such as "Alfred wants to get a plumber" offers Approve, Approve with a condition and Do something else. This card appears whatever your settings. With no saved contractor for the trade, you pick from a shortlist instead.
Nothing moves while a card waits, so a card left for a week is a week the repair has not moved. We alert you when a message is waiting.
Which messages ask first
Properties added from 3 October 2026 start with contractor messages sending without asking. Older properties keep asking until you change it.
Stopping the approval requests
In the message window, tick Stop asking me to approve messages for this property. It applies from the next message. This one still needs your decision.
You can also use Bypass External Message Approvals on the Alfred tab in Settings, for all properties or one at a time. Switch it back off the same way.
Treat it as a real handover. Once it is on, messages go to contractors in your name without your reading them.
If something's not right
Message not right? Select Edit Message to change it, or Decline and say why. Alfred is told your reason.
Still being asked about Alfred's questions? The Feedback Approval setting does not change the questions and go-ahead cards on issues Alfred runs. Those always come to you.
