Creating a document or notice

Generate a tenancy agreement, letter or statutory notice, pre-filled from the property.

On a property's Documents tab, Create document or notice opens the document generator — a drawer of ready templates that fill themselves in from what Abodient already knows about the property.

The Create a document panel, its templates grouped by where they fall in a tenancy

The panel above is what opens. The templates are grouped by when you would use them.

Starting a tenancy: the agreement and a written statement. During it: a rent statement, an arrears reminder, a permission letter, and the official Section 13 rent-increase form. Ending it: a tenant reference and the statutory notices.

The list scrolls if there are more than fit.

How it works

  1. Click the template you want. It opens into a form, already filled in from the property:

A template opened into a form, pre-filled with the property's dates and rent, ready to review

  1. Check it, and edit anything that needs a tweak — the dates, the rent, whatever the template asks. The picture above is a rent statement, pre-filled with the property's dates and £450 rent.
  2. Generate. The finished document is filed on the Documents tab, ready to download or send.

Nothing is sent for you, and it is a template rather than legal advice — you review it and decide when it goes out.
