Getting a document signed

Send any document for e-signature — your tenants sign in their own portal, and a sealed copy is filed.

Any document on a property's Documents tab can be sent for signature, and signed in the app. Open My documents, and each document row has Send for signature.

The Send for signature dialog: the property's tenants already listed as signers, with an "I'll sign too" option

The dialog above is what opens. The property's tenants — the ones with a portal account — are already listed as signers. Tick I'll sign too if the document needs your signature as well. Sending also shares the document with those tenants, so there is no separate share step.

How it works

  1. Send for signature. Choose who signs. The tenants are pre-filled; add yourself with I'll sign too when the document needs a landlord signature too.
  2. Everyone signs in the app. Each signer opens the document and signs on the page shown inside Abodient — no separate account, no email to hunt for. The tenant sees the request on their own portal Documents page, with a Sign button.

A tenant's Documents page: the document waiting on them, with a Sign button

  1. The signed copy is filed for you. Once everyone has signed, the completed PDF is filed on the Documents tab beside the original, named "— signed", and shared to the same tenants. You get a notification for each signature as it comes in.
