Choosing what we tell you about

The Notifications tab in Settings decides what we tell you about, and where it reaches you.

Turn each kind of alert on or off, and choose where it reaches you.

Urgent things — a certificate about to lapse, a message needing your approval — reach you as they happen. Everything else can wait for the weekly summary.

Turning an alert off does not stop the thing happening: it still appears in your Inbox. You stop being pinged about it, which is a different thing.

The weekly roundup

The weekly roundup is one email that shows where your portfolio stands. Switch Weekly roundup on or off, and pick the day under Delivered every. The list headed What's inside shows what it covers.

The email opens with your Inbox, so you see what is waiting on you first. Rent and finances follow. Compliance appears as one line, such as "17 compliance items need attention — 16 overdue, 1 due soon", with a link to the Compliance page rather than a line for each item.

Example properties from your first days in Abodient are left out of the income figure.

If it is too much, or too little

• Too many emails? Move the noisy categories to the weekly roundup rather than off entirely, so you still see them somewhere.
• Missing something important? Check the category is on, then check your spam. Certificate reminders are the ones worth being certain about.
