Put the lease into Abodient, either from the contract or by hand.
A tenancy is the lease behind a property — the tenant, the dates, the rent and the deposit. Recording it is what makes rent tracking, arrears and renewal reminders work, which is why a property with no tenancy shows dashes rather than zeros.
On the property's Tenancy tab, select + New tenancy.

Fill in the tenant's email, when the tenancy starts, how it ends (a fixed term or rolling with no end date), the monthly rent, the payment day and the deposit. Create tenancy saves it.
If a tenancy is already running, starting a new one ends the current one first — one property holds one active tenancy at a time.
Dropping the signed contract into the setup card is usually faster than typing: it is read for the tenant, the dates and the rent, and you see what was found before anything saves.
The signed agreement is filed on the same tab under Paperwork, and shows on the property's Documents tab too — one place to act, the other to keep. It stays against the tenancy, so it is still there when someone asks what was agreed.
