Money you collect from leaseholders and hold for the building — never your income.
The Service charge tab is the leaseholders' money — collected, spent and accounted for, kept entirely apart from your own. It appears only on a building you run for leaseholders.
Three figures tell the year's story: what it started at (the opening balance), what came in (the leaseholders' contributions), and what went out (the building's costs).
Below, what each unit pays and its balance.
It is held on trust, and is never your income.
Setting it up
Set up divides the year's total across the units, so each leaseholder owes their share. Record money logs a payment as it arrives. At year end, Year-end account reconciles what was collected against what was spent.
If the numbers look wrong
- A unit reads "Nothing set yet"? Its share of this year's charge has not been set. Use Set up to divide the total across the units.
